ABOUT US

  • The relief of poverty amongst African people in the UK and Africa, including but not limited to asylum seekers, refugees and migrants.

  • To advance the education and training of those granted refugee status and their dependents in need thereof so as to advance them in life and assist to adapt within a new community.

  • To advance the education of the public in general about the issues relating to refugees and those seeking asylum.

 

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS

 

  • An established community sign-posting office, face to face meeting rooms and drop-in centre, with ICT and Internet facilities  named The Community Space Partnership for Newport based organisations and a link for residents to new arrivals (asylum seekers, refugees, migrants) to meet and make welcome;

  • Interpreting and translation services (French, Lingala, Swahili), ICT facilities and

     resources (Design and layout services, training courses, producing information booklets,

     leaflets and Newsletter with general information, jobs vacancies, business, training,

     learning and volunteering opportunities and community resources;

  • An open door policy that challenges breakdowns and isolation, visits, organising and

     participating in community events;

  • Training projects and workshops to tackle antisocial behaviour and involve young

     people in community activities;

  • Bridging asylum seekers, refugees and migrants to hosted British

      community and to their home land Africa, brining closer cooperation

      and encouraging community involvement so that they could be involved

      in projects and activities for Britain and African.

  • Established new link between Britain and Africa, between Wales and the

      Democratic Republic of Congo, between the cities of Newport (Wales)

      and Bokoro (DR Congo).
